Kodo Millet Idli

Ingredients

  • Fields of Gold Organic Kodo Millet/ Nutrillet Kodo Millet- 3 cups

  • Red Beaten Rice (Poha/ Avalakki)- 1/4 cup

  • Black Gram Dal- 1 cup

  • Fenugreek Seeds (Methi)- 1 tbsp

  • Fields of Gold Himalayan Salt- To taste


Preparation

  1. Kodo millet, red poha, fenugreek seeds, and black gram dal need to be washed and then soaked in water for 4 hours.

  2. Black gram dal and kodo millets along with red poha and fenugreek seeds are then grinded in a wet grinder until it becomes a soft batter.

  3. The mixture is mixed thoroughly and allowed to ferment for 2 hours.

  4. After that a little salt is added to the batter for taste and idlis are steamed in idli steamer.

  5. Idlis are cooked till they get soft texture and served hot with chutney.
